Rene Lalique (1860-1945) was the undisputed master of romantic Art Nouveau jewelry. His designs were edgy with slightly sinister undertones, luscious and licentious and an innovation within jewelry design. He was unafraid of exploring nature’s raw edges. As a designer he went on to work in glass and built up a successful luxury brand that is still in business today.
